Deira is a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist who has been providing attentive, patient-focused care since 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Mexico, where she developed a strong foundation in preventive oral health and patient education.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Deira is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients. Her approach to hygiene focuses on education and empowering patients to take an active role in their oral health.
Outside the dental office, Deira enjoys spending time with her dog Bailey and her husband, exploring new hiking trails, traveling, and cheering on her favorite Formula One teams. She is also an avid reader and loves connecting with family and friends whenever she can.

Leslie
Leslie joined the practice in 2022 and brings over 25 years of experience in the dental field. Having worked in every role within a dental office, she is dedicated to ensuring that every patient enjoys a welcoming and efficient experience — from the first phone call to the completion of treatment. Our team is fluent in Spanish, ensuring clear communication for all patients. Leslie takes pride in helping patients navigate complex treatment plans and financial options, translating them into clear and actionable steps that support seamless care.

Before joining Dr. Gilbert Fernandez’s team as Treatment Coordinator, Leslie managed her family’s dental practice for many years. She holds a CDA, an Associate’s in Accounting, a Bachelor’s in Business, and an Associate’s in Applied Science with a focus on Wellness and Public Safety. Her true passion lies in all things dental and in building lasting relationships with patients.
Outside of the office, Leslie enjoys spending time with her four children and three dogs — Maui, Chief, and Nutella — who keep her very busy! She loves camping, traveling, and has a lifelong affection for horses.

Terry
Terry joined our team in January 2002 and has been a dedicated Practice Manager since 2005. She is passionate about creating a positive and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Terry strives to ensure every patient feels welcome and at ease, making their visit as seamless and comfortable as possible.

Outside of work, Terry enjoys spending time with her husband, their sons, two dogs, Elliott and Matty, and their cat, Astor. In her free time, she loves sewing and crafting. Terry and her husband also serve as Children’s Ministry Directors at their church, where they find great joy in supporting and guiding young families.

The best part about being a part of this great team is that we focus on the patient. Our team is fluent in Spanish, ensuring clear communication for all patients. Dr. Fernandez is very gentle and explains every procedure in detail, step by step, to ensure each treatment is personalized for the patient. He makes the office feel like a home away from home.
My main focus is always the patient’s satisfaction and comfort. I know how intimidating the dental chair can be for many people, so my job is to make sure Dr. Fernandez can work efficiently while helping each patient feel at ease and experience less stress.
I have four beautiful daughters who are my pride and joy. We love spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, and camping. I also enjoy spending my spare time at the gym.

Michael
Michael has been a part of our practice since 1998! He obtained his Bachelor of Science in physiology from the University of New Mexico in 1993. He later went on to receive his dental hygiene degree from the same school, where he was chosen as class president.

Michael contributes to the success of our practice by being loyal to his brother (Dr. Fernandez) and our patients. His brother has taught him to be a better dental professional, husband, father, and friend. Michael likes being able to work with our doctor, whom he started the practice with in 1998, and enjoys cultivating a great relationship between our staff and patients. Our team is fluent in Spanish, ensuring clear communication for all patients. Our goal has always been and continues to be giving our patients the best experience possible. As a result, our patients are his main focus, allowing him to be thorough, gentle, and able to give educational advice. He has gotten to know our patients throughout the years and enjoys seeing new generations come into our office.
He has been married to his wonderful wife, Elsa, since 1997. Together, they have three children, along with one daughter-in-law, and two wonderful granddaughters, Maite and Camila. They also have a bulldog named Chiquis. His hobbies include watching sports (he is a fan of the Braves and Cowboys) and playing softball and golf.
Michael would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of our patients who sent their support and prayers to his wife and family while she was battling cancer. As of now, Elsa is in remission and doing well.
